Your new piercing should be kept clean & dry at all times!!

In most cases your piercing will discharge a small amount of liquid that will dry around the piercing. This is called plasma & is quite important for the healing process. NEVER TOUCH YOUR PIERCING or pick at the dry plasma. Only touch it in the shower after you have washed your hands.

Recommended Piercing Cleaners:

  • Palmolive antibacterial softwash (orange fluid)
  • Warm salty water (sea or rock salt)
  • Sapaderm Soap

General Treatment Routine:

  1. Wash hands with designated cleaner. Soak piercing under warm/hot water.
  2. Apply cleaner to area making sure you have covered the whole area.
  3. Remove any hard or dried plasma.
  4. Turn jewellery (if possible) Allowing the solution to pass through, then rince piercing off.
  5. It is very important to dry your piercing once out of the shower. Not with your towel but with a hair dryer on a very light setting.

This should be repeated twice a day for x month/s.

Useful Tips

  • If you are cleaning an ear piercing make sure to tilt your head so no solution gets into your middle ear.
  • Should infection occour, the worst thing to do is remove the jewellery!! Treat the piercing by giving it a hot compress with a very clean (new) washer. Make the washer as hot as you can handle & rest it on the piercing until it turns warm/cold. After this give it a salt water bath. Repeat 2 to 3 times a day.
  • After your piercing is healed it is best to stick with only the best quality jewellery. Surgical steel, Titanium, Niobium, Zircon gold or 18ct gold. We take great pride in our work so don't be embarrassed to let us know how it is going.
