I began my apprenticeship with Paul Braniff in january 2006 at the age of 21 and was tattooing full time by january 2007. I have drawn for as long as I can remember and will until my eyes and hands give up on me. My greatest influences include Simon Bisley, Brom, Bernie Wrightson, James Ryman, Joe Chiodo and J Scott Campbell. I am inspired by tattoo artists who are pushing the industry into new boundaries such as Jeff Gogue, Nikko Hurtado, Boris,Bob Tyrell, Robert Hernandez, Nick Baxter, Jesus Sayalero and Joshua Carlton just to name a few. I see the work of these artitsts and feel inadequate but inspired to work even harder.
When I am not tattooing or drawing designs for clients....which doesnt happen very frequently, I love to Paint. I find that painting helps me loosen up and discover more about myself as an artist which in turn improves my tattooing. I have been paintintg for the past few years and am just beginning to grasp the basics. I began as a very tight, realism based artist and with the help of Art master Tony Champ I am beginning to become a more expressive and well rounded artist. I believe that no matter how much you know about drawing, painting or tattooing there is always an endless stream to take inspiration from. If you think you know it all then you will never improve and the world will pass you by.
Art is and will always be my life, and I am lucky enough to share it with my beautiful fiance Bec who understands the huge amount of time spent trying to perfect it.
